Bird Management FAQs

In most cases, yes. The right solution depends on the bird species, their behaviour, the property and the extent of the problem. Our team can assess your site, identify what is causing the activity and recommend the most appropriate solution for both immediate and long-term management.

There is no single solution that works for every bird problem. Depending on the site and species, we may recommend bird netting, spikes, pulse-wire, optical or electronic deterrents, trapping, population management or a combination of methods.

Our approach starts with understanding the problem before recommending a solution.

You don’t need to know before contacting us. We assess factors including the bird species, where they are nesting or roosting, how they are accessing the property and the surrounding environment before recommending an appropriate solution.

Yes. Our experienced installation teams install professional bird control systems for commercial and industrial properties, including bird netting, pulse-wire, spikes, brushes and other deterrent solutions.

Yes. No More Birds provides commercial pest bird management services nationwide, with teams and specialists operating across both the North and South Islands.

They can be effective in the right environment, but they are not a universal solution. Their effectiveness depends on factors such as the bird species, property, surrounding environment and how established the birds are at the site.

In some situations, electronic or visual deterrents work best as part of a broader bird management strategy.

Bird nests may be removed as part of our bird management and deterrent work where appropriate. Before any work is undertaken, the situation needs to be assessed to ensure the birds and nests are managed appropriately.

Some bird problems require ongoing management, particularly where food, shelter or other attractants remain nearby. For sites experiencing recurring activity, we can recommend an ongoing management programme or combine different control methods to improve long-term results.

Native birds are protected and require a different approach to introduced pest bird species. We do not undertake population control of protected native birds.

Where native birds are creating problems around a property, our team can assess the situation and determine whether appropriate exclusion or deterrent methods can be used without harming the birds.

Commercial Bird Control

We work across a wide range of commercial and industrial environments, including warehouses, factories, distribution centres, retail properties, shopping centres, schools, food facilities and other large commercial sites.

Costs vary depending on the size and complexity of the property, bird species, severity of the problem and the solution required. A small deterrent installation will differ significantly from a large-scale bird netting project or ongoing management programme.

Contact our team and we can assess the problem and recommend an appropriate solution.

Yes. Many of our installations are completed in active commercial and industrial environments. Our team plans the work around site access, health and safety requirements and day-to-day operations wherever possible to minimise disruption.

Yes. Some sites require ongoing management rather than a one-off installation. We can develop a programme based on the level of bird activity, site conditions and the long-term objectives for the property.
